Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 13, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Kettle (“the Application”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the Application. By downloading, installing or using the Application, you agree to the terms described in this Policy.
2. What the Application Accesses
Bluetooth. The Application asks for access to Bluetooth, subject to your authorization through Apple’s system prompt, for the sole purpose of finding your smart kettle and sending it commands and settings (such as temperature, light colours, boiling time and sound) and reading its state (such as water temperature).
Siri. The Application offers voice commands through Apple’s App Intents and Shortcuts. If you allow it, Siri and the Shortcuts app run the commands you choose. Speech is handled by Apple under Apple’s own privacy practices; the Application receives only the command and its parameters, such as a temperature, and the developer receives nothing.
3. What the Application Stores on Your Device
To reconnect without scanning, the Application remembers the identifier that your operating system assigned to your kettle, and a flag that records that the voice commands screen has been shown. These are kept in the Application’s own storage on your device. They are not sent anywhere and are removed when you delete the Application.
4. Information We Do Not Collect
The Application does not collect, transmit or have access to personal information. It makes no network requests of its own. It contains no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking software development kit (SDK), requires no account, and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
5. Third-Party Services
The Application does not share information with third parties. Where it uses Apple system services (Bluetooth, Siri and Shortcuts), those services are governed by Apple’s own privacy practices, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
This website uses Google Analytics to understand visitor traffic, only if you accept it in the notice shown on the page. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit. This is separate from the Application, which does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics.
6. Children’s Privacy
The Application is not directed at children under the age of 13, and the developer does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
7. Your Rights
Because the developer does not collect or store personal data about you, there is no developer-held data to access, correct or delete. You keep full control of your kettle and of the permissions you grant. You can withdraw the Bluetooth or Siri permission at any time in the system settings of your device.
8. GDPR: European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland: the Application does not act as a data controller or data processor for your personal data, because no such data is transmitted to or processed by the developer. The data subject rights in GDPR Articles 15–22 therefore have no developer-held data to apply to. No international transfer of personal data by the developer occurs.
9. CCPA/CPRA: California Residents
For California residents: the developer does not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and has not done so in the preceding twelve months. No personal information is collected, so the rights to know, delete, correct or opt out have no developer-held data to apply to.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Application after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
11. Contact
